The William J. von Liebig Foundation Major Gift

The Thoracic Surgery Foundation is extremely pleased to announce that The William J. von Liebig Foundation has pledged a $2 million committment toward the $3.75 matching committment TSF made to the NHLBI for the Jointly-Sponsored Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award Program. The ten-year program is designed to develop outstanding cardiothoracic surgeon-scientists.

The William J. von Liebig Foundation was established in 1975 by William J. von Liebig. Mr. von Liebig was an honored inventor, entrepreneur and philanthropist. The William J. von Liebig Foundation generously supports medical research, primarily for the treatment of vascular and cardiovascular diseases.

The William J. von Liebig Foundation's gift to The Thoracic Surgery Foundation was a very important step forward in TSF's efforts to secure the NHLBI funds. The Foundation is extremely grateful to The William J. von Liebig Foundation for this very generous support.
