General Applicant Instructions

An individual who meets the eligibility requirements is invited to submit an application in the appropriate award category. Research grants will be judged separately from research fellowship applications. In general, top-scoring applications in each category will receive priority with respect to funding.

Multiple fellowship applications under the sponsorship of an individual mentor, or multiple grant applications from a single institution will be accepted and reviewed, as long as there is no significant scientific overlap. Only under extraordinary circumstances will the TSFRE fund simultaneous awards to a single institution.

Online application submission will be available this summer. Only online submissions for TSFRE awards will be accepted.

Please review each award for the applicable submission deadline.

All applications will be sent to TSFRE's Research Committee. The Committee may request additional information or clarification of your proposal.

Final review and approval of the Research Committee's recommendations will be made by TSFRE's Board of Directors at its meeting held late January/Early February.

TSFRE award recipients will be announced in February.

Please note:

• The Foundation will provide a brief critique to those applicants whose proposals are not funded.
• Should you receive an award, you will be required to acknowledge the support of TSFRE in any and all resultant publications of your findings. Copies of these publications should be forwarded to TSFRE.
• The Foundation requires an annual progress report and a final report on your research.
• No part of any grant or fellowship award may be directed toward institutional overhead.
